QNX Consulting

Starting way back in 1990, SPA first became a QNX user and started using QNX in its Industrial Automation Products and Solutions. Thus SPA became one of the first users of QNX in India.

SPA has built a very strong team of consultants over these years who have worked on almost all releases of the QNX RTOS since 1990. Starting with QNX 2 and QNX 4, then continuing work with Neutrino and then with QNX 6 and now with Momentics. SPA's team has a very strong grounding in QNX, the concepts of Real-time programming under QNX and the intricacies of Embedded Development using QNX and all its tools.

SPA has been working closely with organizations around the world, which provide consulting solutions on various OS. Whenever there is a requirement for work to be done on QNX, these large organizations turn immediately to SPA and its team of consultants. SPA's team of consultants on QNX have been working with QNX and its various tool chains for at least 4-5 years and are extremely comfortable with all the releases of QNX.

Further as a sole Distributor for QNX in the Indian Sub-continent, SPA's team provides Training and Support to the 200 and more corporates in India who are QNX users. Thus SPA's team has a lot of exposure to the wide uses of QNX in various segments, with a clear understanding of what is required for QNX to work effectively in each of these segments. SPA's teams also do extensive training programs for all these corporates on a regular basis to build awareness on QNX's product offerings as well as provide developers with an insight into Real-time and Embedded Systems Programming requirements.

QNX 24x7 Technical Support Plan
Various Support Plans offered by SPA.

(I) Comprehensive Support Plan This will include the following -


Priority Support Plan.

The priority Support plan will allow the user to talk to a Support engineer between 9AM and 6PM Indian Standard Time at SPA's office to -

  • Solve Installation problems and answer queries regarding usage
  • Provide programming suggestions
  • Register QNX bug reports
  • Any other support that can be provided over telephone SPA will assure the availability of a telephone line at all times during Business Hours

Critical Problem Alerts
SPA will provide regular email alerts of problem reports on bugs found in the QNX Software along with suggestions of workarounds for these bugs.

Past Version Support

SPA will provide support on all Standard Commercial releases of QNX products starting with version 4.22 right up to the current version of QNX products, which will now also include the newly released Momentics.

Assigned Technical Account Manager

There will be a designated Technical Account Manager for your company who will be available over a direct telephone line or email. He will co-ordinate with any requests that your developers may have and ensure that answers reach you in a timely manner.

Hosting Custom Hardware

If you send us software that you are using on your hardware, we will set it up for tests at SPA, so that we can give you informed/relevant suggestions when you require our help with problems you face during development.

Snapshot Support

In case we develop any minor fixes for you, we will support you on these fixes free of cost through the duration of the support plan.

Training

As a part of the Support plan for 1 year, we will provide 2 free Training Sessions for up to 5 people for 4 days per session at SPA. Any additional training session will be charged at USD 1000 per trainee for a minimum of 3 trainees. Any on-site training sessions will be charged at USD 2000 per trainee for a minimum of 5 trainees. In addition to this all boarding, lodging, to and fro travel expenses and local conveyance will be charged extra at actuals.

Design Review

SPA will provide up to 5 working days of design review support per project in India for free. Any additional time either in India or on-site will be charged at our standard man day rates of USD 200 per man day in India and USD 300 per man day on-site. All on-site visit expenses such as boarding, lodging, to and fro travel and local conveyance will be charged extra at actuals.
Note - The Comprehensive support plan involves about 2700 working hours per annum and includes 10 hours of work per day and 5 days of work per week.

(II) Weekend support plan

This optional add on provides all the facilities of the Comprehensive Support Plan and can be added on with as little as 3 days notice prior to the start of the weekend when support seems necessary. This support option can be availed off by signing up for a minimum of 2 man days (each of 10 hours) over the Saturday and Sunday of a week. A maximum of 1080 hours support can be availed of by signing up for this add-on.


(III) Optional Add-ons

The following facilities can be added on as options -

Incident Reporting and Tracking

You can submit Bug / Query reports 24 hours a day on the web. You can also use the same facility to track any Solutions / Answers given for your posting. Through this facility, you will also have access to all previous postings and answers in the form of FAQ.

Private Newsgroup

SPA's support engineers and developers will be able to interact with the developers of your company through a private newsgroup.

Service Priority

Even ordinarily all your queries will be given top priority by the Assigned Technical Account Manager. With this option the Assigned Technical Account Manager will be able to request developers in SPA (Non Member of QNX Support Team) to help you out in fixing up the problem you have been facing.
