Offshore Development Centre / The SPA ODC Model

SPA would instead like to propose a slightly different model which can take care of the above limitations. SPA can setup a dedicated ODC for the Client in Bangalore. The salient points of this are -

1.
This ODC will be a fully registered company as per the Company laws of India. This will be advantageous if the Client decides at a later date to takeover the group. This is an obvious advantage over the conventional model discussed above, where the Client would not be able to takeover the group in future.
2.
This company will be staffed, and managed by SPA, and the organization structure can reflect the structure prevalent in the division of the Client that is doing the Outsourcing. This will ensure much clearer management of the group along the lines of management of the division in the Client that is doing the Outsourcing.
3.
All infrastructure and communication methodologies will be set up to reflect the infrastructure that the Client uses to communicate with its own various offices. This will ensure that all the communications methodologies are available for effective Project Management and Interaction. This will ensure that hi-tech, complex and interaction intensive requirements can still be Outsourced.
4.
All processes for development, testing, configuration management, documentation, and such, will be a reflection of the Client Division that is doing the Outsourcing.
5.
All training and product certification strategies will again be a reflection of the Client Division which is doing the Outsourcing.
6.
Security policies can also be a reflection of the policies of the Client division that does the Outsourcing. This ensures complete IP confidentiality, which is never possible with the conventional model.
7.
SPA will work with the Client to list out the full scope of what all (of the above and additional) this ODC needs to support. Based on the list, SPA will estimate the costs of doing the same in India. This costing will be provided to the Client and SPA will add a nominal percentage as a management fee. Thus, this gives the Client a clear idea of costs, and the Client will be able to control the cost of operations also. This is a significant improvement on the model mentioned above, as it will not only keep costs in check, but also gives the Client a clear picture of where the investment is going.

This model gives significant advantage to the Client in terms of control of Quality, Delivery Time, and thus will enable it to assure its customers of the same quality as they could expect from the Client, at a fraction of the costs incurred.
